Level 1: Build

Level 1: Build — Decoupled Automation Adapter

Integrate with Itential IAP using an abstract Provider Interface so the portal is never tightly coupled to a single vendor API.

User Story:

As a Platform Architect, I need our portal to execute IAP workflows seamlessly, with a local mock simulator for developer testing.

Key Deliverables & Specifications:

Itential IAP Mock Simulator Express Server (`/iap/api/login`, `/iap/api/workflows`, `/iap/api/execute`)
`AutomationProvider` TypeScript Interface
`ItentialAutomationProvider` class implementing token management, workflow execution, and status polling
Circuit Breaker to protect against IAP gateway timeouts

Implementation Roadmap:

1. **Build IAP Simulator**: Create endpoints simulating authentic IAP JSON contracts. 2. **Define Interface**: Create `AutomationProvider` interface with `executeWorkflow()`, `getJobStatus()`. 3. **Implement Adapter**: Build `ItentialAutomationProvider` handling IAP OAuth/session tokens.
